  1. i've seen skates for 50 or so...also used ones are cheaper and already broken in

  2. Buy the lowest end of the model of skate you're looking at. I bought nike bauers for $70. A decent skate, but don't fit my feet very well.

If you're willing to pay for some shipping look at these: http://www.hockeymonkey.com/ccmvector30....

  3. hockey is not a poor mans sport.  not only do you need skates but pads, helmets, uniforms, sticks, oh and ice time and/or leagues  are also high priced even here in the states.  so bottom line get a better paying job first.

  4. if you want even decent hockey skates you will end up paying anywhere between 100-200 dollars depending on the quality your looking for. i got lucky and actually fit into kids sizes haha so i ended up only paying 80 for some bauers, they were 100 i believe for the adult size..

if it is just for recreation, then you can most definitely get a pair for 30-70 dollars, depending where and again the kind they are. a lot of places even offer a first time free sharpening.

  5. Any decent pair beginner of ice skates, hockey or figure, are going to cost you around $100-$150 for any type of decent skate. I'd suggest buying them at your local skating pro shop that way they can size you, nothing is worth than a bad fitting skate. I'd go ahead and put some money aside so you can save your money for skates! Good luck!
