Question:

Ice maker pump

I have a Kenmore Coldspot Model 106.72862101. I recently had the ice maker replaced and now the trays are no longer filling with water. I called the people that put the ice maker in and they said that the pumps sometimes go bad after a new ice maker is installed. They said they could replace it for $154.00 parts and labor. I found my refrigerator on Sears Parts Direct and it appears the part they refer to as the Valve Solenoid is the same as the pump. Can you tell me if I'm correct before I order the part? Also, can I replace this myself if I'm far less than a plumber?

Thanks,

RSmith
