  1. Make sure the arm hasn't come loose.

And since you know there is ice in there you likely know nothing is caught in it. (Sometimes plastic bags get wound around the ejector fingers.

Assuming it has a model number starting "106.", whirlpool:

Pull the cover off the head end of the icemaker. It may just pull off. There is a small slot for a coin or short screwdriver if it comes off hard.

You then be looking at the module. There is a wheel in the center of that. There should be two tabs holding that geared wheel on.  Often one tab breaks and the contacts underneath don't make contact. If you press on the wheel and starts to turn, that is the problem. Replace the module.

That is the most common problem, very common. That head also has the motor and all the switches in it. Other than that you only have thermostat (occasionally the problem but much more rare) the body, and the heater.

Those modules aren't cheap these days. They can be $90. And a whole icemaker was only $140. It might be easier to replace the whole icemaker than try to diagnose the unit.

But if it has water you know it is in the icemaker. Unless you have one of the rare top freezers with a dispenser and there is also a safety switch to it.

    Good Luck.

  2. Is the ice-sensor bail stuck in the "UP" position?   If so, the ice maker thinks the bin is full and it won't eject more ice until there's room.

  3. After analyzing the ramifications of your situation, utilizing my extensive appliance repair experience,  I have come to the conclusion that it is broken.

I’m guessing you wanted more than that so, the motor thingy isn’t moving the ice.  It could be stuck and may need to be de-thawed.
