Ice plus room temperture water equals water becomes cold room temperture water plus ice equals water same WHY?

  1. I am not sure exactly what your question is. I think the question is, "Why does water become cold when you add water to ice, but not as much when you add ice to water?"

    If that is indeed the question, it is because the water has more contact with the surface area of the ice, giving the molecules more interaction with one another. When you add ice to water, the ice has reached the turning point where the H20 molecules become less dense than the higher-temperature molecules around them, so they float. By floating, they do not make contact with the water at the bottom of the glass, so those molecules never come in contact with the 'cold' molecules.


  2. it is because of 1 of the laws of transfer of heat....heat travels 4m a region wit higher temperatur to a region with lower temperature..........
