  1. my coach charged each kid something like 40 dollars for the first event and 10 dollars or each event after, depending on how many kids were going, and how far away it is. but you should ask the other coaches at your rink.

  2. My daughters coach's charges me the rate of one lesson for the first event and usually 1/2 the price for the second event. Plus some coaches will bill for gas mileage and hotel expenses as well.

  3. My coahc charges me 25$ she helps we warm up, do my hair and make-up, and helps me be less nervous.

  4. The cost of one lesson is what my coach charged me (in my case, 20 minutes).  My coach was often generous with her "bill", so that may be on the cheap side.  Regardless if it was one or 2 events or even if the competition was a bit of a drive away, it was still the cost of just one lesson.

  5. The standard is a little different around the country so it would be better for you to ask fellow coaches at the rink(s) where you coach so  that you aren't undercharging or overcharging for the market.

Our local standard is to charge either one lesson per event or a flat fee per event plus one lesson per practice session.  Our expenses are always charged to the skater's parents divided by the number of skaters you have competing.

I don't charge actual mileage at $.52/mile.  I figure the cost of $.52/mile and then how much my actual gas bill is subtract the 2 and get the 'mileage cost'.

  6. My coach split up the cost between all the students competing.

  7. my coach usually doesnt charge. but at competition you get coaches hospitality (FOOD) so i would be fine with it ;)

i guess split the cost of gas between the two kids.

or take the cost of their lessons per minute (ex. $1/min)

and multiply it by how much they are competing. 6 min warmup, 1:30-4:00 freeskate, short programs etc. plus the cost of gas split between the kids (depending on if its a close competition or farther from home.)

for me it would be about

    $12 for warmup

    $5 for short/long together

and approx $12 for gas 60 miles away on a 20 mpg car (i dont have a 20 mpg car but i just needed to do some quick math)

so that would be approx. $30 dollars more or less.

  8. My coach used to charge me what one hour of coaching would come to...
