  1. Check the bulletin boards at your local rinks, usually they will post flyers about upcoming competitions and such.  You can also ask some of the coaches at your rink if they know about any.  As for shows, the best way to get involved is to take classes at your local rink and sign up for the show when it comes around.  Most shows take place in the spring, so sign up is usually in late fall or early winter, but you may be able to find some exhibitions around this time of year.  There should also be a lot of competitions coming up during the summer.  Good luck!

  2. go to USFSA.org and look go to the skating competitions section. You're going to need basic skills comps since you haven't passed any tests(i'm guessing since it takes years to get there).

    Welcome to the Skating World!!

  3. You can go to www.usfsa.org and search under events and that will show you some local events that will be going on in your area. You can also check with your coach, and your club's website or bulletin board. Good luck!

  4. Check your local rink more than likely they will have competittion entry forms. Sorry to tell you but now isn't the competition season it runs from the fall until about early spring(maybe about march or april). Most rinks now are ending the year with annual ice shows you should sign up for that if its not too late. At the beginning of the school year ask the front desk for competition entry forms. If you don't already have a coach I would recommend you get one to help you get a routine and to help you better understand competions. That way you can choose the event you want to compete in. They have so many(footwork, interp, compulsaries, etc.) It can be a little scary at first, but if you like people attention and a challenge it should be a good experience for you. Its better to start off now when you're a beginner so you can get used to it. Good luck!
