How long does it usually take to pass each level (in ISI)? Does each level usually take the same amount of time, or which take the longest? (I'm a beginner, so the first 4-5 levels or so)

  1. well it depends. if it is a group lesson it will take a long time cuz you get a lesson only once or twice a week. but if you take private lessons you could skate and take lessons whenever you want. so if group lessons around 1 or 2 months probably. and private lessons about just around week or two. it just depends on how much your willing to spend. but i suggest taking private.

  2. As an ice-skater and someone who works at an ice-rink I would say it depends on how much time you practice and if you're motivated. I would also recommend not trying to rush it. I made that mistake and skipped over valuable things that I am having to relearn after a few years break from skating. Good luck!

  3. In basic skills it takes about a month for each of them, but in ISI, it takes about a year or more.

  4. I'll assume that you're in Alpha-Delta? Well, some people take a really long time while some people take a day. To polish the technique, however, is rather long work.

Let's say that you want to simply be able to do them. If you don't dare to fall and is so terrified to fall, you will take a long time. Really long time. Try a few months. I see someone who is still working on forward crossovers after what? 2 months? If you're not afraid to fall, I guess it'll be a few lessons. Some people get them immediately after being taught. Just listen to your coach and watch your him/her. Believe me, arms give you tons of balance. For turns, it's the hips.

Tell yourself that since the worst the that will happen is to fall, just go ahead. If you don't fall, you don't really go all out. Embrace the sport alright?

For other levels, in freestyle, generally FS1 takes like, less than a month. My friend went up to FS3 or 4 in about three months from FS1. The higher the level, the harder it may be.

    Just try your best!

  5. not sure of isi...but i strted in feb so ive been skating about 10 mths. ive landed my flip....so its diff for diff ppl

  6. Wish I could help, but I'm assuming you're not from Canada.

We do our levels different I'm supposing!

But I would assume the higher you get the bit longer it takes to pass each level as the moves get more difficult.
