  1. Hey

You should go to the and talk to them and see what they recommend. I will cost you about fifty, but u should get them, because they r better! You should start off with skate school ( group lessons) and later on you will get to private. Group cost about 100, but it last a long time!

  2. it sort of depends on where you are from. I'm in WI and i plan on figure skating, and it costs $10, same cost as joining the rest of the sports in my school. and for the skates, i'd recommend you use a pair of skates that are probably 1/2 a size or one size bigger than your regular shoe size.

  3. Figure skating is a very expensive and vigor sport. At many times it will cost you more than 1000 dollars a month. If you are just planning on skating for fun and pleasure (recreational skating) then don't spend a lot on figure skates.

  4. Personally, I would get skates from either d**k's or Target.  If you're planning on taking lessons, you're going to want something with maybe a little more ankle support.  To start out with, Target skates would be okay, but they're not going to last long.  Quickly, your skills will outgrow your skates.  You'll be trying to do beginning jumps and spins in a pair of flimsy skates.  They might cost more, but if you start out with a low level Riedell or Jackson skate, it may last you longer.  Those skates are going to be through a skate shop or on the internet....the only problem with ordering skates from the internet versus getting them at a store is if you buy them from a pro shop, they can order your size.  Skates don't always follow shoe sizes.  Based on the brand, they may run small, they may run large, which is why it's best to get properly fitted.

Skating can get very expensive.  Lessons, skates, dresses, competition fees, testing fees, club dues, ice time and more can add up quickly.  I'd recommend starting with group lessons.  They're cheaper than private lesssons, but you can progress quickly through the basics.  Also, it's a great place to meet friends and meet coaches who you might like to contact when you're ready for private lessons.  Cost for private lessons vary by location.  For example, here in SE Wisconsin, they're $95 for the 7 week session, 45 minute lessons each week.

    Good luck!

  5. ice skating is expensive. I take classes and is is 100 dollars a week. It is worth it though. It's a lot of fun. Good luck though

  6. Well, If your just starting, get a recreational skate, since I'm assuming you're not doing Freestyle yet. It depends on where you are skating at. Typically, if you're doing group lessons it costs less than privates. I would do group lessons first, to see if you like it. If you can, once you get to a little higher level, try doing both privates and group, or just privates. Also, no matter how discouraged you get, keep doing it!!!!!!!!!! It's so fun once you get to freestyle and start Jumping and spinning!!!!!!!! Good Luck.
