I love homemade Ice tea but it seems as though you have to use loads of sugar to make it nice, is there a way of making it sweet but using a less teeth rotting alternative?

  1. have you ever drank fruit teas?...

well the same concept can be done with regular tea..

brew up some strong tea.. and then water it down with apple, white grape, or any juice.. orange, pineapple.. etc.. it will be nice.. and if its not sweet enough.. just add a spoon of sugar.. you wont need as much then..

  2. try it with no sugar and a slice of ripe peach. I find that lemon makes it too dry. Dont make it as strong as you would normally, make it a bit weaker.

  3. splenda is poison. Look it up. Make really good clear tea and very little sugar is needed. I use Constant Comment and a loose black tea mix with distilled water. Wonderful!!!

  4. Try some honey. It may well add a little extra flavour to the tea, but it may be OK. Give it a try, if it tastes fine, great. If not, just stick to the sugar.

Or maybe make the tea less strong.

  5. You seem like you love tea (like me), now lets try to break your addiction to sweets. I recommend slowly weening yourself off of sweets. For now, continue to use sucrose (table sugar), but slowly begin to lower the amount you use until you are at zero sugar and 100% tea. Once you achieve this you will experience the true deliciousness of iced tea. :o)

  6. Go unsweet!

  7. Splenda

  8. You can try Stevia which is a natural sweetener.

I also suggest slowly weaning yourself of sugar or try brown sugar it's sweeter so you use less.

    Enjoy...I love iced tea too.

  9. I would choose teeth rotting to carcinogenic sweeteners any day.

Aspartame for instance and as for that one made of coal "Saccharine"

I like and use sugar made from good ol' British sugar beet or honey.

  10. I personally think honey has a very distinct taste and doesnt work well for ice tea. Try apple juice with lemon or lime juice, it sounds pretty weird but I actually think it tastes pretty good. or try those cordials you can buy that are 80% fruit juice with alot less added sugar. mix that with tea that youve chilled really quickly(so it doesnt go cloudy) add some mint and a slice of lemon and of course lots of ice.

  11. Try Neste Iced tea its the best one ive ever tasted. You can buy it from asian shops and its only like $2

  12. honey or splenda
