I am teaching a co-op class of kids that range from 1st through the 4th grade and I would like some ideas for games that the kids can play to get to know each other better.

  1. There are lots!! Here are some good websites:

    http://www.education-world.com/a_lesson/...

    http://www.ynpn.org/resources/icebreaker...

    http://www.funattic.com/game_circle.htm

    http://www.kimskorner4teachertalk.com/cl...

    http://www.creativekidsathome.com/games/...

The last one is my favorite. There should be plenty there to work with. Hope I helped!

    Good luck!  ;)

  2. We often do these at the beginning of our homeschool group year. We do scrambles, where a group of 10 kids has to put themselves in order according to some little fact - their name, their birth month, their age. Lots of fun.

With the younger ones we play a simple "name game" where we have a ball, sit in a circle and roll the ball to a child, saying our name and their name (i.e. Fred to Wilma). If we don't know their name, we ask. We talk with all the kids about introducing yourself and how even adults (or perhaps, especially adults!) forget names!

    Have fun!
