  1. How big is the pitcher? Is it a gallon or half gallon.

Ice tea has 50 mg of caffeine per serving. Even 1/2 gallon of it would give you 8 servings (64 ounces) or 400 mg of caffein. The first thing that will happen is you will become dehydrated. It takes more water to process cafffeine than a caffeinated drink provides. So it basically dehydrates you.

Dehydratation can cause you to become tired and lethargic. It also makes it harder to think clearly and you can develop headaches. The longer you go without proper hydration you will develop other problems. Like aches and pains in other parts of your body, bad skin, and problems with organs and blood flow.

Now the amount of caffeine is also over the highest recommended limit of only 300 mg. At that level you start to have many problems, beyond the dehydration effects. Like problems sleeping, with kidneys, and other organs too.

There is nothing wrong with liking ice tea and drinking a few glasses but I would limit it to no more than 4 (32 ounces a day). Even less if you are getting caffeine from other methods.

  2. tea has a lot of health benefits especially green tea but i think too much ain't good.try to reduce ur consumption

  3. If you use Caffeinated tea bags then the caffine intake might be bad for you, but decaffeinated is fine.. Other than that probably just the sugar if there is a lot.

  4. I would not think it is bad for you I mean you are supposed to get a lot of fluids each day. Also, you don't use too much sugar but it is still not great for you. I believe if it were decaffeinated tea it would be better than regular but is better than soda. It could stain your teeth and water is always better. Hope I helped.

  5. That's exactly how we drink our tea at our house. We go through 2 pitchers a day, but there's 3 people drinking it. I don't think there's any bad side effects to drinking tea so much. I have heard that your urine could be discolored, but nothing bad.

  6. Caffeine intakes that result from drinking four or five cups of tea each day are not associated with any harmful effect to health in adults. It is better for you than sugar laden soft drinks.  And it has been said that it may help prevent heart disease. And another study has found that cholesterol is lower in tea drinkers.

I live in the South, so like you, I drink a lot in the Summer. I make sun tea. I put two family size tea bags in a large jar with a lid and sit it out at night.  By noon the next day,,it is tea..all I have to do is refrigerate it or add ice and equal. Easy. I have two jars, so I always have a cold one in the fridge.

So, drink up. It is not a bad obsession to have as obsessions go. LOL

  7. Well, I've been doing that for about 30 years and I'm okay so far.  There are conflicting reports about whether tea is bad for you or not.  Sweet-and-Low is known to cause cancer in lab rats but has not been linked to any deaths in humans, so if there is cancer in your family you might want to use something else.
