I just purchased two opaline gouarmis,

Picture= not my fish, random opaline gourami

Their caudal fins have white spots, that is how they are born.

So what other signs of ich can I notice besides white dots. Thanks!

  1. white tiny dots that look like sugar grains are ick. the fish will get legthary (idk if spelled right) and the fish will have lots of dots on him/her. treat the water quickly and seperate him/her it spreads quickly. also youll notice that it may swim in one place or swim really fast to another place its going to go to.

  2. I Love opalines!!  anyways, you can tell if they have ich because ich will be raised bumps on the fish's fins and body, you can tell the difference also by shining a light at them the coloring that is natural (not the ich) will shine and shimmer as the fish swims, ich will not. also, the spots that are ich are way smaller than the spots on the gourami.

  3. Do you fish look like these?  The fish in the picture has dots.  They are supposed to have dots.  Ich is tiny dots like tiny pieces of salt.  If your fish look like the picture then they are probably fine.

  4. just white spots but it everywhere on scales and fins and u will know when u c it
