Question:

Icom 910-H Crossband Menu Setting?

I have an Icom 910-H VHF/UHF base radio that has been crossband enabled.

When the radio is in crossband repeat mode and the "SET" button is pressed, a setting pops up; "Rpt-AF" The possible values are 1-100.

Is there anyone who knows what this setting is/does?

  1. Sounds like it wants to know if you want it to behave like a repeater and connect the AF rcv to the tx?  Does the literature discuss this as a possibility?

Does the 910 have full duplex crossband capability for use on the Oscar satellites such that you can hear yourself on the downlink?  If it has full duplex capability then I'd bet that it is asking if you want it to behave like a repeater and the value relates to the audio level that you want to deliver from the receiver to the transmitter from 1 to 100 pct.

That's my opinion and I'm stickin' to it.

Good luck and 73 from The Fisherman
