  1. that means you have inserted too many things in ur hard discs(drives)

    ..

    u should free some space...

  2. I would not compact this, this is warning you to expand the virtual memory.

The virtual memory is unallocated memory on you hard disk drive (Unused) it is used for programs/routines that use a lot of memory.

To increase the virtual memory open the control panel click system click the advanced tab and under hardware ther is a button it will take you to a new tab where you can allocate more memory to be used.

To remedy this further the options are buy a bigger HDD (more memory) or buy a bigger RAM (Random Access Memory) chip. A 2gigabyte RAM chip should solve memory issues and the prices are tumbling as we speak.

You would need to find what type of RAM your computer board takes DDR SODIMM etc. the speed the chip can possibly run at 733mhz etc.

fitting these is simply slotting the chip into the slot viola!!!

Having such RAM you could reduce the virtual memory to zero and use the RAM when required this free the hard disk for you to save documents etc.

Processes, you need to do some detective work on what process is doing what.

Open task manager right click on taskbar or ctrl+alt+del identify the running processes and one by one trim them down to what is really needed.

Make a note of the process in task manager and google it on the net soon you will find sites that give you descriptions of the process and what it does and the service it comes under etc.

If the process is pointless you can then identify it in the control panel click administration tools click services locate double click and in the service pop up disable it from running this would stop the need to kill processes time after time.

Processes are not always this straightforward some run from within the registry and not as a service.

  3.    try this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826513

  4. One way which may fix it:

    Start >

    Control Panel >

    System >

    Advanced >

Under performance box click Settings >

In performance options click advanced tab >

Virtual memory box click change >

    Select custom size >

Type in the recommended figure from the bottom of the box into both of the custom size boxes >

    Click set >

Click Ok and close all >

    Restart.

    Hope that helps.
