  1. I can think of 3 methods I've used, or materials rather

    Acrylic clear coat

    Polyeurethane clear coat

    Epoxy clear coat

Acrylic being the least expensive, probably easiest to use, with the fastest dry/set/cure time.

I'll assume you've seens cypress cross sections made into clocks, or bar tops, or table tops, clear coated with pictures, etc. under the clear coat.

Your greatest issues may be what effect any clear coat has on whatever material you wish to laminate, and any possible discoloration. Certainly a test on a piece of scrap can answer what might be best to you. Application can be by brush and as long as the clear coating formulation is not too heavily agitated, your chance for bubbles after the fact can be lessened. One issue with many acrylic clear coats is that applied to heavily in a single coat, they can become milky during and after the application. That can be resolved by thin, multiple coats.

    Just my two "sense"

  2. yes , use elmers white school glue to stick the picture to the wood. Then use spray polyurethane to put a thick clear coat on top of the picture. You may have to spray 3-4 thick coats. You want to let it dry for at least 24 hours before touching the piece. IF it feels the tiniest bit sticky let it dry longer. Good Luck.

  3. Use white Elmer's glue mixed about half and half with water. Paint it on the back of the picture wet the wood a little and put the picture on use a dry paint brush to smooth out the wrinkles and bubbles. You may need to poke a hole in the bubbles to work them out. The glue will take a while to dry but it will dry and still glue the picture on you use the water to make it thinner and give you plenty of time to slide it and get it strait. I used this method to glue them to flat boards to make decoupage. Several coats of varnish with a light sanding between coats will give it a nice finish if you want a real antique look after the last coat while running water over it rub it over very briskly with 0000 steel wool.

  4. walmart sells laminate in the office/ stationary, isle i think you easily apply it.
