  1. Try something simple -- it's the thought that counts and they will appreciate your efforts, even if it's a really plain meal!  Try a pasta dish -- spaghetti, for example.  Just boil the noodles and sauce per the package directions.  Good luck.

  2. Skillet Lasagna (aka Hamburger Helper)

    1 lb. lean ground beef

    ¼ cu p chopped onion

    ½ cup chopped carrots

1½ cups mafalda (mini-lasagna noodles or other pasta)

    1½ cups water

    ½ tsp. Italian seasoning blend

2 cups marinara or other tomato-based pasta sauce

    8 oz. fresh sliced mushrooms

1/3 cup or more shredded mozzarella cheese

Cook lean ground beef, chopped onion and chopped carrots in a Dutch oven on medium-high about 6 minutes or until beef is no longer pink. Drain. Stir in raw pasta, water, Italian seasoning, pasta sauce mushrooms. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low; simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes or until pasta is tender. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and serve.

  3. Pasta:-  Seafood

6 T. soy sauce, divided (with extra available)

6 T. olive oil, divided (with extra available)

8 oz. imitation crab meat, in bite size pieces

1 large sweet onion, slice into rings

8 oz. Elbow pasta, cooked & drained

In skillet, sauté onion rings in 3 T. olive oil. Sprinkle on 3 T. soy sauce. Cover and sauté over medium heat for 5 minutes. Add imitation crab. Sprinkle on another 3 T. soy sauce and 3T. olive oil. Do not let pan go dry. It should be juicy. Let simmer for 15 minutes or until onions are caramelized and crab is nicely browned and crisp along edges. Toss with hot pasta. Serve.

I like to serve it with a salad and garlic bread.

  4. what do you have on hand???

pasta?chicken?anything..be creative and see what happens..pasta,rice will do with any meat or veggie, season well enough and this should be a start for you,,sorry i,m not in your kitchen to see what you have, good luck..

  7. I just made this for my family and it was so very very good.

2 6oz cans tuna packed in water

4 slices bread lightly toasted and cut very very small

    2 tbsp melted butter

1 or 2 dashes each...poultry seasoning, granulated garlic, onion powder, pepper, celery salt.

    1 tbsp dried chives

    2 dashes hot sauce

    3/4-1 cup mayo

    1 cup shredded cheese

    1/2 cup shredded carrots

Mix the bread crumbs/toasts and the seasonings and the butter. Add to the tuna and mix everything else in.

Let sit sit in the fridge for about 10-15 min. Warm up a pan with a little olive oil and shape into patties. Fry until golden brown on both sides.

I just served mine with hot buttered noodles but you could do rice or poatoes, or make it into a sandwich.

Another yummy way to serve it would to drop into the pan by spoonfulls. Boil up the extra large noodels and drain. Put the tuna into the shells and then serve with pasta sauce on top.

Serve with a veggie (wich I forgot)

I could justsit down and eat them all but I gotta cut mayself back.

  8. what about noodles??? vermicelli noodles are so easy just put them in boiling water. make a sauce with some cooked chicken onion, garlic, ginger, sweet chilli sauce, soy sauce add any vegies u want like corn, capsicum, carrots etc. or u could make home made pizza, get some flat bread, sauce, cheese and anything u want. yum yum yum
