  1. No if its a land line it is maintained by BT Openreach, but if you are having problems with the line the company I switched to was brilliant when one of my lines had an intermittent fault.

I reported it midday on a Friday, had 5 calls back from customer services that day keeping me in touch with progress, BT Openreach fixed the fault on the Saturday afternoon and my company called me back 3 times the next week just to check everything was OK.

That is what I call customer service, I have never found anybody else whose supplier was anywhere near that level of service.

  2. The Public Switched Telephone Network is owned and maintained by BT Openreach.

Unless your with a cable company (ie Virgin) all telecoms operators use BT Openreach lines.

If you've got a fault on your line report it via your Service Provider. They will contact BT Openreach and arrange for an engineer to fix it.

  3. why dont you just get skype?

  4. all phone companies have to use BT for their lines unless you go cable i.e Virgin.

  5. BT own all the phonelines, so doesn't matter who you go through they will still be responsible for you loosing connection

  6. the only other 'lines' apart from the ones operated BT are in Kinston upon thames. Check out BT on wikipedia
