Ida Marko Varga clinches Women’s 400m freestyle title: 2011 Swedish Short Course Nationals
Ida Marko Varga continued to impress the arena on the penultimate evening session of the 2011 Swedish Short Course Nationals in Stockholm, Sweden, on Sunday, November 27. Marko Varga claimed the Women’s 400m freestyle title. In addition, the Men’s 100m back-stroke
crown was clinched by Pontus Renholm.
More importantly, Ida Marko Varga touched the finishing barricade in a thrilling time of 4 minutes and 09.53 seconds to win the 400m freestyle crown of the platform. Gabriella Fagundez took home the silver title in the respective race by claiming the finishing
blockade in a time of 4 minutes and 14.50 seconds, while the bronze title went to Ida Sandin in a mark of 4 minutes and 15.40 seconds.
In the meantime, Rebecka Ekelund grabbed fourth position in the respective splash by banging the finishing fence in a time of 4 minutes and 16.50 seconds and the fifth place honour went to Josefin Lindkvist in a blot of 4 minutes and 20.08 seconds, respectively.
Moreover, Elsa Ericsson earned sixth spot by claiming the finishing divider in an impressive mark of 4 minutes and 21.97 seconds.
Laura Lajunen did not perform poorly throughout the race, as she notched seventh position in the respective splash by clicking the finishing barrier in a spot of 4 minutes and 22.45 seconds. Last, but not the least, the eighth spot was taken over by Josefine
Hippi in a time of 4 minutes and 22.59 seconds.
Meanwhile, Pontus Renholm topped Men’s 100m back-stroke race by thumping the finishing barrier in a winning time of 53.34 seconds. Niklas Borin took home the silver title in the respective race by clicking the finishing fence in a time of 53.53 seconds,
while the bronze title was secured by Sebastian Holmberg in a mark of 53.82 seconds.
The fourth and fifth place honours went to Mattias Carlsson and Alexander Nyström in a blot of 54.32 and 54.91 seconds, respectively. In addition, Anton Lundin and Martin Nilsson earned sixth and seventh positions by claiming the finishing divider in a time
of 55.07 seconds and 55.08 seconds. Finally, Konstantin Sundin settled at eighth spot by thrashing the finishing blockade in a time of 55.47 seconds.
