Idea for a coed baby shower nontraditional new mom?

i was thinking a private party at a skating ring cause I'm really not into the girly games but i do want it to be like a big party so any ideas

I can't imagine a woman 7-8 months pregnant skating... it doesn't sound very comfortable and kinda dangerous.

What about having a barbecue or just a normal dinner party or cocktail party? Even if you don't want to have games the main focus should still be food and opening gifts.

Is this your baby shower or someone else's?

Either way, skating might not be the best idea.  If the shower in question is for you, then you shouldn't be planning or hosting it anyway.  Someone else is supposed to do that for you.

You don't have to play games at a shower.  If you don't like them, you might politely mention that to the shower hostess.  We didn't have any at my baby shower, and I thought it was much better that way.

But rule numbr one of Baby Shower 101 is--never, ever throw yourself a baby shower.
