Question:

Ideal place in France for a holiday for a young couple?

Are there any places you would recommend for a reasonably priced holiday in France for a young couple? We're both 18 and 19.

Ideally it would be a caravan/camp site in a good location near beaches with on site facilities, however different recommendations are welcome.

Thankyou.

  1. Hi ! I think the best place in France is the Alpen (Ok, it's because I live here...).

But really, you can use lakes and moutains, the landscapes are beautiful !

Just I think the life is more expensive than centre or west coast of France (may be the same price level than Paris or South).

    Have a good vacations !

  2. i'am french and i recommend to you Biarritz or Hyeres

    sorry my english is bad

  3. Hello ! I'm french, I live in Bretania next to you ! I recommend you Bretania of course but The Mediterranean Sea is very beautiful too !

  4. Anywhere long the west coast should be cheap and nice.

  5. Rent a car and get on the picturesque Route Napolean that runs through the heart of France all the way down to the Provence. This is beautiful country where Cezanne and many artists painted. The food is wonderful and the scenery is to die for. Visit Aix-En-Provence, Avignon and drive east-west along the southern coast. Go to St. Paul de Vence which is a unique perserved village that has been converted into little shops and restaurants. Great fun.

  6. Yes, go to the Atlantic coast. Check areas around La Rochelle / île de Ré or a little further south la Palmyre in the Charentes-Maritimes.

Even further south, the Bassin d'Arcachon SW of Bordeaux has gorgeous beaches too, especially by the Dune du Pyla (the highest dune in Europe, worth climbing!).

Or if you want Mediterranean climate, go to the beautiful inland beaches along rivers such as the Gorges de l'Ardèche (which my husband considers the best swimming hole on the entire planet!!). http://www.ardeche.com/en/index.php

There are also hundreds of natural pools and beaches in rivers of the Provence region but also in the Dordogne, the Lot, etc. Just avoid the Mediterranean coast and stay inland for cheaper accomodation.

Are you coming with a car and your own tent? If so, ** and *** camp sites will cost between 16 € and 24 € a day for the two of you. If not, let me know as well as your budget, how long you're staying and when and I can give you more suggestions.

All the places mentioned above are crowded in July and August but then that means you get to meet other young people. I don't know what your tastes are and what you consider ideal...

  7. Vendee near Noirmoutiers, its great, people are very nice.a lot of history, good local wines and food.

fantastic weather from May to September, the beaches are beautiful!!Go!!!
