  1. Good, my personal believe with out changing to clean energy (hydrogen fuel cell for Vehicle, Solar thermal  power or any thing else)  it will not possible to bring clean environment, until that reduce use of energy in any form eg heating or cooling device,  hybrid cars.

( latest news is French company let to introduce Car run by  only "AIR" for 2500 euro)

Note, US has just 300 million people but uses 25% of world energy and produce world 25% of green house gas.

  2. It may or may not be possible to stop global warming. We already have built up enough CO2 in the atmosphere that we will soon reach or may already have reached a point categorized as a self-fuelling furnace. This effect would occur when our global temperature keeps in the atmosphere enough water vapor to further build temperature.

The next problem is that with elevated temperatures we lose the oceans, even terrestrial plants as sequestering agents. This stage once reached would mean that we can not simply stop emitting and wait for CO2 to subside. We would have to positively remove CO2 from the atmosphere and pump it deep into the ocean trenches.

The CO2 level we are at now is causing the oceans to acidify, and already the calcium concentration is dropping so that animal life is in jeopardy. Significant further acidification would suggest that our ocean bed calcium carbonate will start to give back CO2 into the water.

The stopper in the bottle is that we are starting to see reduced rates of ocean sequestration in agreement with expectation.

So, forgive me if I seem doubtful that we will stop GW.

If we were still able to do so, it would have to be by progressively reducing extraction, globally, of fossil fuels. No point in my using less while you noticing a lower price go out ans use more. If it is extracted, someone will use it.

We can do things to make life comfortable with a lot less fossil fuel. But we will not. We will wait until someone turns off the tap, stops mining the coal, digging out the tar sands.

  3. First of all, Worldemp is completely wrong saying that it's the worlds poor people who are causing global warming.  The added carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is mostly a result of the industrial revolution which only happens in fairly wealthy countries.

And shifting the blame to the Chinese is not honest for the same reason.  They are just starting their industrial revolution, we've been at it for 150 years or so.  Plus the U.S. with 5% of the worlds population uses 25% of the worlds resources and produces 25% of manmade greenhouse gases.  Plus we have one fourth the population of China, so per capita we are four times as polluting.

    We can do many things.

Develop cleaner energy, which we are doing.  We only need the political will to use it instead of fossil fuels.

Slash and burn farming in some third world countries contributes to global warming because it reduces the amount of trees, and puts all that smoke in the air.

Even if we don't cause global warming, which I doubt, all these things are what we should be doing anyway.  We are endangering the ecosystems of the world in many other ways.

The same solutions can solve many of the other problems relating to the environment.  It is our duty to be good stewards of earth and nature.

Our own survival depends on it.

Species are going extinct at something like 1000 times the background rate that occured over millions of years.  Most of that is a result of other effects we are having on the earth, other than global warming. Those other effects have the same causes as what is being blamed for global warming.   Global warming is just the needle that broke the camels back so to speak.

So be smart, treat the earth like it was your mother.

Harness the methane that cattle manure releases, which will cut down on methane, a major greenhouse gas and get energy out of it also.

I've posted this before, I find it so compelling that one farm can provide the electricity for 600 homes.

"Wild Rose Dairy in Webster Township, WI is home to an innovative renewable energy facility powered by cow manure and other organic waste. The farm is home to 900 dairy cows, and an on-site anaerobic digester creates methane-rich biogas from their waste, which is used to generate 750 kilowatts of electricity per hour—enough to power 600 local homes 24/7."

Simple math show that one and a half cows can power one home with methane.  not bad.

I'm convinced that we can have an almost all solar electric grid in this century, with 65% solar by 2050.  Cheap, clean energy never needing fuel of any kind.    http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=a-so...  shows how.

Conserve conserve conserve  this may be the biggest.

There is no debate about whether there is global warming, only about whether man is helping to create it.

  4. The earth is always warming or cooling at any moment in time.   AT least one person thinks it is cooling...

    http://www.stuffintheair.com/global-warm...

    apparently.

  5. ok let my give you idiots a little finacual lesson... when you grow up... you need MONEY..

the movie/book of inconvenint truth is a scam for your money... nothing more. if it were to be a true story it would be FREE.. NOT FOR THE MONEY!

(dont say the movie is free on the internet because its not. its only a advertisement for you to get the book)

al gore fooled u all for millions of dollars... right now this lying pig is navegating his privet jet and poluting the air right in front of your faces.. he dont care because he knows global warming is a myth :D. because of u idiots for buying his books he bought his jet and all..

  6. Yes, I saw it it's really good,

maybe you should check this site out it's really good

    http://www.climatecrisis.net/

  7. I believe it exists, I just disagree on why.

Solar activity effecting the earths magnetic field is probably #1

#2, volcanic eruption and forest fires produce far more co2 emissions than autos, industry and exhaling combined.

I believe it is yet another way to dupe the public into division, and creates great wealth for those on the financial end receiving the donations and gov. contracts.

  8. I think it exists.  Unlike a lot of people, I think it's a natural process that would have happened with or without the help of people. I also believe we are very limited in what we can do to stop it.

  9. ask the people back east how they're managing with the global warming crisis....of course, they might not be able to get right back to you because they are shoveling out from the snow.

  10. I did read a book called an:

'Inconvenient Truth." by Al Gore... (not the movie).

This might be a crazy idea, but it WILL work.

U know how the colour white, reflects light? Like the acrtic, with all it's white snow, and reflects the sun's radiation back into space.

What if, we all came together and made a big fat white paper covering a large amount of space reflecting all that radiation from the sun back into space?

It souns crazy, but it just might work... Lmao. ^^

Ya the book rocks. =P AL GORE ALL DA WAY!

  11. I believe global warming exist!!

If there were less cars everything would be better

  12. It has existed recently (last 18,000 years). Unfortunately, our very sophisticated science is not all knowing.  Direct measurements, and geological, anthropological and botanical records indicate the long term trends.

Because of these measurements there are theories of what caused the variations. We are learning, but truth is elusive.

Unfortunately all of human science is not advanced enough to know all the answers.  We find out new things every day that  shoot down theories and introduce new theories. Our knowledge of the Sun and the Planets is being upgraded every year due to the deep spacecraft missions. Within the past several years, NASA has observed the sun from out of the plane of the ecliptic, a first for science. It observed some behavior that we didn't know about.

Now if you don't think the global warming exists, look at all the data.  However, without total knowledge, we don't know whether we are at the peak on Global Temperature and ready to start the longterm cooldown, or if it can go higher.

If you can predict with certainty what will happen tomorrow, you are truly gifted.

The current big controversy is not whether there is or isn't Global Warming, but what is causing it and is there anything we can do to have any effect at all on it. Each branch of science has its theories, but to claim they can predict exactly what is causing it, they are deluding themselves. Without us meddling in it, will it continue, or are we ready for the natural cycle to start the big cooling period that will make life more difficult.

Personally, with due respect to many many scientists, I believe that most of the global warming is produced by the Solar variability and the interaction of the Sun's magnetic field with the Earth's magnetic field.  We just aren't smart enough yet to know the total effects and predictability of its variability.

  13. you should really watch 'the great global warming swindle and look at http://www.iceagenow.com

  14. Well... saying that the poorer of the worlds people are the largest polluters... we should have them develop and then they would be as clean as the USA.(trust me... it's veryx23 clean)
