Ideas for ABC theme?

Question

Any ideas for an ABC book for children?

I thought about Mode of Transportation, Sports, and "Games," but if you have better ideas, please answer. The best ideas gets 10 points!

all of your ideas are great....try asking some of the children for their ideas, and then try some of these also...

animals

food

places

plants

toys

all of these have been used in one way or another by regular authors but it is fun to try to find things for each letter with the children....one year i even had the children draw their own and then we wrote the words they dictated

Hi

How about getting a drawstring bag and each day put something in there that begins with the 'days' letter, so for a it could be a plastic apple, and b it could be a toy butterfly, etc etc. This gives the children a visual aid and aslo it will give them another focus too which could connect to other activities.

Use their names and if you dont have names for all t letters use thing like family titles such as brother sister aunt uncle and use different languages.

To fit in with you mutli culture theme also you can have childrens names. Include common ones like Jake, Matthew, Charlotte, but also multicultural names like Muhummud, Akmal, Yang, etc you get the idea!

An activity i love doing every year with the chidlren I cutting out letters from A4 Pieces of paper and getting the kids decorate then! hang them up they make a great addtion to the class room!
