I'm throwing a Bridal shower for a friend this weekend and there are about 40 women attending. i didn't plan any games (except the dice game) as the bride is not really into super corny shower games. i'm starting to worry that people will be bored just talking and eating and watching her open gifts..... does anyone have any ideas of things we can do at the shower that might work?

  1. I've been to ones where they did a quiz about the bride and groom like what their first movie was together, where they met, their favorite restaurant, etc.  Not too personal, but fun.  Then the people had to try to guess the answers.  Or you might want everyone to stand up and introduce themselves, say how they know the bride or groom and maybe a good/funny memory they have of them.

  2. Do a quiz about the bride and groom. Have one quiz just be about the groom, having the bride answer as well. Then do a quiz about the bride and call the groom before hand to get his answers. Have random questions like, "if the groom could be a super hero who would he be?"

There is also a spice game, where you put different spices in little cups and pass them around and everyone has to guess what they are. (depends on the age range you have, older women like this better)

You could also do a wedding dress game, where you split up into teams and dress up a member of the team in a wedding dress made of toilet paper.

    Good luck!

  3. Play the purse game. The host names an item and whoever empties out her purse first gets a prize.

  4. Here's 2 ideas.

Get a package of 3x5 note cards in white or fun colors, and a package of either sharpies, or paint markers. ( you will also need a hole puncher) and have each guest write a piece of marriage advice, be it funny or serious on the card. Then put these in a little binder as a gift for the couple. Give the guests the option to sign their name.

Get some scrap booking supplies, and have the guests divide into groups of 2-4 have the groups design a page for the bride to be to use in her wedding scrapbook. (this will only work if she intends to make a scrapbook)

  5. I completely understand not wanting the corny games.  If you want something to entertain the guests, my suggestion is games or activities that can be done during the gifts or quickly.  Nothing is worse than wanting things to get moving and you have to play a game that takes 20 minutes.  Everyone likes winning a prize, so having quick play games for a prize is a nice thing to do.  Something you could do during the gifts is to play Bridal Bingo.  Give everyone a blank Bingo card (have plenty of pens available), and have people fill in the card with items they think the bride will get as gifts.  As the gifts are opened, the guests mark off the item, 5 in a row gets Bingo and wins a prize (have like 5 Bingo prizes, can only win once).  Another quick game is to put a star under someones chair or plate and whoever has the star (or more than one person) wins the door prize.  You could do the bride and groom quiz.  have printed sheets at everyone's seat and give them a time limit to answer all the questions, whoever gets the most wins (again, have more than one prize, as their may be a tie).  I think just having those couple things would be sufficient.
