Question:

Ideas for a 6th grader to make money?

Here's my dilemma:

I want an 80GB iPod - with tax the total comes to $270.

I only have $130.

I get approx. $6 weekly for allowance.

I've also been doing chores for a few neighbors and my grandparents, but I still haven't been making much.

Any other ideas? I really want that iPod!!

  1. cut some lawns or baby sit

  2. Maybe you should ask your parents or another relative (grandparents) for an advance or loan.  Offer to do chores daily/weekly and/or monthly as payment to your loan and of course offer to use your weekly allowance as payment.

Another route is to create a service or product that you can make and sell for a profit. Maybe some craft? or hand made item?  Walk dogs, cut grass, wash cars, clean houses, etc...

Here is another, collect aluminum cans, bottles or any other type of recyclable you can collect and sell for money.  When I was growing up we use to collect cans and paper in my school and sell them for money to pay for field trips and stuff.  Money for you and you get to help the environment.

Do you have any skills? maybe computer skills?  offer to fix "old" peoples computers for a small fee.

Now I would not be giving you a complete answer if I didn't offer you some "gray area" suggestions.  How about a bit of gambling? become bookie, take bets on sports or whatever is popular with kids your age.  Offer a payout and of course take a small profit. Or play some poker be the dealer, and take bet.

Use your imagination, with some creativity you can come up with a good idea.

    Good luck.

  4. -babysit

    -lawn work

make lots of money the easy way

  5. ill  try to help you:

first off get off the internet. look in your newspaper for jobs(for kids) like cutting grass. chores. selling stuff. bake sale. and other stuff. try babysitying.

and if you really dont want to do this stuff. sign up for a adsense account(google adsense) were people pay you to put ads on your website. its like 15 cents per click on a add. which isnt bad

  6. Tell your parents that you would like an iPod and tell them how much you have, and that you intend to pay for it yourself. Ask them if they would help you out by giving you more chores to do and see if they will match whatever you make from jobs like babysitting and yard mowing for other people.

  7. grab some of ur old toys and have a yard sale...or u could mow some lawns...good luck!

  8. Is a paper route possible for you?
