My restaurant for class needs a Cuban-themed atmosphere and i am clueless as to what to do. What could we add as table toppers? How abuot the decorations throughout the restaurant? The dress of the waiters? The music part is pretty much the easiest...but any help with decorations would be well appreciated....

  1. You could make small rye breadsticks that look like cigars! Put the little stickers on them too! I think that would be a great touch!

  2. I grew up in FL, where there are lots of Cuban restaurants. They are usually one of two styles in my experience. Either tropical Island style (think of "key west" or Hawaii) or Spanish style (think of wrought iron fixtures, lots of red and white (or pale mustard yellow) and black

For the tropical style, pick warm pastel colors for the table cloths, tropical looking flowers for the table decor, or boat type decor, tiki torches, candles, etx. Waiters dress could be hawaiin shirts or polo shirts, and dockers or jeans.

Here's an example of a casual one. http://www.cubanbreezes.com/

For the formal style, here is a famous restaurant in Tampa. Note the bright red, the wrought iron, and still some tropical touches. Waiters wear black pants and white dress shirts (kind of a Tux look)

For palm trees, Go to a party supply store and buy or make them from Crepe paper or construction paper. For flowers, get cheap silks at the dollar store or Walmart crafts dept. Anything you want to make you should be able to google instructions.

    Hope this helps.

If you can find a Cuban grocery store or a store like Publix that carries Cuban items, you could also get Cuban soda's in tropical flavors to drink (Jupina is my favorite, it's pineapple flavored) or buy cuban food items on line (google it)
