  2. My sister had a Medieval wedding theme!  We wore high empress dresses with "angel wing" sleeves.  Our hair was done up in several tiny knot rolls all over our head.  The centerpieces were candelabras.  She had medium sized pewter statues of horses, castles and knights featured throughout the reception hall.  Also, the cake top was a medieval castle.  There were candles everywhere.  It was beautiful!  I would send you pics of our dress and hair but I don't know how to attach it...  Anyone???

  3. SWORDS!

  4. Have a harpist play during cocktail and dinner hours

Hire a group of actors from a local theater company to come in and be strolling minstrels, to put on small skits, etc.

Find large, heavy cups to use for drinking glasses

If your wedding is in May have a Maypole with all the ribbons on it

Use alot of ivy and wildflowers in your decorating as well as pillar candles

If you have a local knife and sword shop see if they have a 'knight in armor' that they will let you rent (some will only require a security deposit) to place at the entrance to your venue.

Use rich colors in your scheme - emerald green, sapphire blue, ruby red, as these were a sign of wealth at the time.

Do some research to find if your or his family has a 'crest'; if not design one of your own to use on your invitations, place cards, etc. If you know a good artist that could paint a larger scale one for you, use it as a backdrop and hang it within the hall.

Be sure your gown and those of the maids reflect the time period as well.

Instead of a tiara, use wreaths of flowers and ivy on yours and the gals heads.

  5. Clubs, Stain Glassed windows, Swords, Knights, Castles, and of course the clothes!
