Ideas for a baby shower gift basket?

I am going to a baby shower soon and I wanted to put together a basket for the new mom. I was thinking of doing things for when the baby is sick/unhappy, like Desitin, gas drops, baby tylenol, Vicks vapo-rub, etc. However, I don't have any children so I was hoping to get some ideas and recommendations from you ladies who have been there and know what helped you. What are your thoughts?

Disposable camera, first aid kit for mom and baby, diapers, cloth diapers to use as burp rags, pacifiers, lotion for mom and baby, gift certificate to a nearby restaurant that delivers.

you are off to a good start just add an aspirator, a teether,some baby anbesol for when baby starts teething,pedialyte,and a soft cuddly toy and your basket would be perfect.

you could add the bathwash, and lotion they have for fussy babies, teething tablets or baby orajel, throw in some wipes (you can never have enough baby wipes)

Baby tylenol and baby motrin (doctors recommend to alternate the two when the baby has a fever), diaper rash cream, johnson and johnson's mentholated baby wash (really opens up baby's stuffy nose), thermometer, medicine dropper, gas drops, teething tablets etc... What I really enjoyed also is my family made me a gift basket that had things for me to do in the hospital while in labor and recovering....they packed travel sized shampoos and soaps, toothpaste, yummy smelling lotions, deodorant, extra absorbant kotex with wings (she will definitely need those, a big bag of them), a pretty robe and slippers, crossword puzzles, and a magazine.

maybe a baby grooming kit like for the hair and nails.

and maybe something for mom too

moms never get anything and they are the ones doing all the work even like a gift card in there for somewhere like bath and body works or something like that...

also for baby u can put maybe some recieving blankets in there

and maybe a gift card for baby like to somwhere like wal mart for baby clothes or anything she may need that she doesnt get for the baby.

The things you said, maybe also add grooming items. Brush, comb, saline drops, nasal aspirator, baby q-tips, lotion, nail clippers, etc. She will appreciate whatever you decide!
