  1. veggie fingers

    veggie burgers

pasta with jar of pasta sauce

    cakes

things with cartoons on like cakes

    ginger bread man biscuits

snowballs they are like chocolate cakes

    tucks teacakes

party crisp cheesy puffs and onion rings

  2. I love to put out a fresh fruit platter with fruit dip (mix 1 jar of marshmallow creme with 1 8oz block of cream cheese, then serve).  One year for my son's 4th birthday I made a big 4 by laying out watermelon chunks, then surrounded it with other fruits, and served it with the fruit dip.

PB&J sandwiches, chicken salad sandwiches, veggies and dip, chips and salsa.  It's been my experience that most people just want to munch at parties.  I use my Pampered Chef Press-n-Seal to make crustless peanut butter and jelly, but if you're looking for simple you can buy the Smuckers Uncrustables (tho these are pricey for what they are), or cut regular pb&j with cookie cutters in whatever shapes.

These are all make ahead, so you don't have to be making anything when your guests are arriving.

  3. Hi, I dont know how old the children are.

What about sandwiches cut into triangles with ham on? Some children enjoy strawberry jam with "no bits" (seeds) on sandwiches. I wouldnt do too many incase they dont go down well. Tuna (mayo) sandwiches. (leave a bowl of mayo out just incase a child has an egg allergy) Why not cut up carrots into batons and celery and cucumber and leave a selection of dips such as mayo, salad cream and even ketchup. You will be surprised at kids tastes. Make a salad bowl with lettuce, cherry tomatos and sliced cucumber in with some croutons in it. You can buy mini pizzas that are about 3 inch round. Boil some baby new potatoes and leave them in a big bowl with butter at the side (not everyone likes butter). Have a bowl of plain crisps on the table for crisp sandwiches. Egg mayo sandwiches are a good vegitarian option. Depending on the age of the children you can leave the bread, butter and meat seperate so they can make their own or be on hand to do it for them. Explain to the children (parents?) that you have left it for them to do incase of any specific dietry needs ie:- Johnny doesnt like butter or Sarah cant have butter. (unless you have stated it on your invites about the dietry needs) Have a seperate table for your jelly/icream/sponge cakes/chocolate finger biscuits/fruit as it will make life easier when it comes to the desserts. Also have plenty ready made up jugs of juices. Depending on the age of the children have a big black bin liner hung over the back of a dining chair with a big sign saying BIN on or above or near it so that they will tidy up after tehmselves. If they do that reward them with a mini bag of haribo toffees or a lollipop. Less for you to do.

Good luck and enjoy a happy, stress free party.

  4. Finger goods are great for kids parties.  :)

    Try:

*Assorted fresh veggies with ranch or hummus for dipping

*Assorted fresh fruits with vanilla yogurt for dipping

    *Corndogs

    *Chicken drumsticks

    *Veggie burgers & fried eggplant

    *Cold pasta salad

    *Potato salad

*You could do a taco buffet, with all the fixin's (taco meat, refried beans, dice tomatoes, shredded lettuce, cheese..etcetera)

A sherbet punch is always fun:  Combine equal parts Hawaiian punch & ginger ale, chill.  Put in scoops of rainbow sherbet right before serving.

  5. I have 3 grandkids under 4-1/2, and my daughter just gets a bunch of pizzas for their parties (except for the 1st birthdays, which are a family BBQ).  Cheese pizzas for the kids, and assorted ones for the adults ... veggie/dip and fruit platters ....  cupcake cake for dessert  .... lemonade (it doesn't stain)

  6. This is a very good vegetarian recipe for a cool appetizer.  You use Pillsbury crecent roll dough for the crust and after baking the crust you frost ot with cream cheese and any assortment of chopped raw veggies.  Everyone loves it.  At Christmas I also have made it and concentrated on red and green veggies only.

mini sandwichs- egg and water cress, cucumber, ham and edam.

go retro with a huge plate of prawns on a bed of crisp iceberg lettuce, lemon wedges and cucumber...

Toasted pittas cut in to slices - served with cheats dips...

plenty of pickles and sauces, cold meats, and fish...

    Iam now hungry!!

    I hope it goes well!!!
