I need ideas for a patrol time at guides. I am 15 years old and the activity would need to entertain a group of 4-7 (ages 10-13) for about an 45 mins. Cooking or Arts & Crafts activities prefered. Not too difficult or expensive please!!!

Thank you........

  1. Try having a look at

    www.allfreecrafts.com

    or

    www.kidskreate.com

there is usually something there that can be downloaded and doesn't cost a fortune to make either.

    Hope it goes well.

  2. A greeting card. Get some stickers from a craft shop. If they have them, a sheet of Dufex fairy stickers are inexpensive and look stunning. Get a pack of square white card blanks, some thin white card and silver card, a sheet of Happy Birthday or Best Wishes Peel-offs in silver and a couple of small rolls of double sided tape (Sellotape do 5 metre rolls).

    This will cost around £10.00

The guides must cut a piece of  white card big enough to make a border about 6mm all round when they stick the sticker on. Then cut a piece of silver card a bit bigger yet and  put double side tape on the back of the white card to stick it to the silver card. Put tape on the back of the silver card and stick it to the centre of the front of the card blank. Add a peel-off greeting. They don' t stick hard so you can lift them and try again if you make a mistake. I used hologram silver peel-offs and hologram silver card but they do cost a bit more. Make a sample card to show your group what they are aiming for but encourage them to try different arrangements of the materials if they want to. They can write a message directly inside the card or you could print some inserts to stick inside. Cut them slightly smaller than the open card blank and fold. For children it is easiest if you put a strip of double sided tape to the right of the fold inside the card blank and stick the insert on to that.

  3. Pin the tail on the donkey
