Ideas for a killer romance novel?

I am just beginning a short story that I am hoping to make a little longer if I get enough good ideas. A woman goes on a trip with a man she just met a week prior. They make love everyday and on the way back from the trip he confesses that he is in love with someone else. She wants him and finds any and every way to make him change his mind

but hes already married..... TO HER MOM... so she goes out on a long, long journey trying to find him and her.. then she murders the guy she loved but her mom called the cops.. right before the cops came, the mother was stabbed to death, right before the woman turned the knife on herself..

An interesting premise. It would be a good idea for a starter novel. But try to leave out as many cliches as you possibly can without killing the thing in the process.

She see's the new person he is in love with coming out of the resturaunt. and she follows him on the way home. She doesn't realize that her tail lights are not completely working and she speeds up on the highway .

She gets pulled over by some s**y cop who gives her a verbal warning. She tells him how s**y he is and finds out he is single too , so she invites him over for dinner,because she thinks this will help her forget the need for guy number 1 .

He declines first, but changes his mind later, when he is off duty.

He comes over and they end up in the" hot" shower .

She forgets about guy number one , but can't believe how much of a s**t she turned into..

She wakes up the next morning and makes her new lover breakfast in bed.

Then throws him out, because she is so ashamed.
