  1. Look for  The Ultimate Guide to Pampering Your Horse by June V. Evers.

It has TONS of costume Ideas and instructions. Plus lots of other useful Ideas.

some of my favorite costumes from the book are:

nurse and victim(s), (i've seen pics of a horse done up like this, cut old sheets into strips to be "bandages" and splash red tempra paint, The non-toxic washable kind, on the horse)

    baby in a big diaper,

    cow(s) and farmer,

those were 3 I liked that could easily be made into multi-horse costumes. look in the book for HEAPS more.

  5. For one person and their horse-

I have done Harry Trotter with Hermione, a Dragon and a Knight (me). The dragon had a long tail made out of a foam pipe like thing. You could use a pool noodle. Well you stick that into the saddle gullet for it to stay... decorate it with spikes and a pointy spike at the end of the tail. Then I made a kind of blanket with matching fabric for the 'body' and put a Sleeazy over the horse's head and stuck this really elaborate headpiece on between the horse's ears. We stuck horns on the front of the sleezy on the horse's nose and wrapped long boas around is neck. Get the rider to wear a night's helment and sheild with a sword. I got 6th out of about 30 people for these two costumes.

    For two ponies-

Cinderella and the Prince- Dress one pony up in a dress and the other in a tux. Make sure to paint Cinderella's toes with glitter polish!

Chef and the Pancake- Dress one pony up as a chef with a hat and apron. Put a old matriss pad on the other pony as a pancake! Don't forget the butter!
