  1. Try a topless reception

  2. I've always wanted to do a Sunday morning wedding with a Sunday brunch/lunch instead of the traditional Saturday thing.

I'd have done it with a jazz band for dancing and punch made with champaign and orange juice and white white spritzers, etc. (you can save money with a limited open bar because people don't tend to drink that much on a Sunday morning).

I thought it would be so classy to do something like that instead of the traditional sit-down dinner with a DJ afterwards.

But my fiance has always wanted his wedding to be traditional and on a Saturday night, but luckily he wanted a jazz band instead of a DJ too!

  3. At my daughter's wedding we had a table of crudites, cheese, crackers, fresh fruit as the guests arrived.  We had different "stations" for the guests meals, including a pasta station, a meat station, a fish station, and a dessert station.  Guests also had a table available for choosing different salads and potato/rice dishes.  Much fancier than a buffet.

  4. have all the food in one or two colours

ask the guests to all dress in the same colour

    have a themed barbecue.or menu

like spanish or indian - or vegetarian

hire a venue with a swimming pool and book exclusive use

    of it.

go retro and have a sausage and mash meal with steamed

    sponge pudding

  5. you could have a themed reception like a circus theme or something and you could hire acrobats and people who make balloon animals i am sure if you called around in your area you could find a ton of different places to throw your reception

if this is a really good idea you can e mail me by going to my yahoo answers profile page

    good luck and congratulations!

  6. We are using the flat screens in our reception hall and setting up our and my brothers Wii and having a players challenge of bowling or tennis etc.

  7. Do something that actually reflects you and your HTB's actual tastes and lifestyle. If you're outdoorsy people, do something in a garden or beside a lake. If you're into the arts, have your reception at a gallery.

We're a very relaxed couple, and we hosted an outdoor clambake--we played games and gave prizes, and most importantly, we had fun, and made sure our guests did too.

  8. 1. You could do a candy stations.

    2. Blind fold the bride while the groom takes off her garter.

    3. Cupcake tower.

    4. Kids table w/ activities.

  9. I'm not sure what you mean by "different" - as in "not a sit-down dinner" reception? You could have a dessert or a cocktail reception. You can also have a potluck BBQ in your back yard - that's different, too. You can charter a yacht and have a finger-food reception at sea. You can have a "themed" reception where the food matches the decor (i.e., a sushi reception/Japanese decor).

  10. well going along the white chocolate fountain idea you can use white and fool coloring to match your wedding color

a more "hands on" selection of food like Tepanyaki cooked in front of the guests, hand rolled sushi or personaized pizzas

costume themes like phantom of the opera and what not

mindnight ceremony and reception so teh ceremony is on one day and the reception on the next day but at the same time really

    sunrise or sunset ceremony

brunch reception with omlet bar, carving stations, and mimosas

sports theme at the playing field and everyone plays

  11. We are trying to do different things for our wedding and reception.  Thingsideas  that we are have that aren't seen at every wedding/reception:

    -rose ceremony for parents

    -getting a trolley for transportation

    -dove release

-sparklers when bride and groom leave

    -candle place cards

-signature drinks (pink and brown for our colors)

  12. I went to one wedding where instead of one wedding cake, there was an assortment of petit fours & mini cheesecakes in different flavors.  That way, no one was stuck with only one flavor of cake.  It was also mainly a dessert reception for a casual but elegant wedding, so it was cheaper than a sit-down meal.

  13. hi, if you havnt got a photographer yet we saved a fortune by using a guy called bri williams photography he does a studio at the reception to allow your guests to have a family portrait done as a reminder of your day, he prints them there and then he was there all day and night and didnt rip us off we were in hull and he was happy to travel to us, hope this helps

  14. n**i style orgy and invite Max Mosley for expertise.

  15. You could try a waterfall and lilies. Or have all the desserts arrannged to look like a picure of some sort.

What about a themed wedding like medival or cowboy?

If your into sports you could get married at the sports feild and have that team theamed wedding.

It all depends what your into.
