I have to create a board game on halogens that teaches people about some concepts. I have the idea of using a periodic table as the game board. Also, there has to be 50 question cards. Does anyone have any good/original ideas that would make the game more interesting/fun/creative? And please don't say make it like Monopoly.

  1. make your game board like a 3D stair case(the way the halogens are like a stair case on the periodic table)

each "stair" would have have board game spaces on it to move onto the next "stair"

if you make it like a 3D staircase then on the side of the stair case you  could have the halogens in order as they would be on the periodic table

the first one would have 5 then 6 and so on.. since there are six halogens and each square would have a corresponding questions that would give you 45 questions

if the player gets a question wrong then they have to be able to give a fact about another element n the periodic table (just to keep it science related) to be able to continue on in the game

once the player answers all the questions of the last step then they have the option to become a "halogen master" which has them answer 5 more halogen related questions (this way you have fifty questions)
