Ideas for a teddy bear cake for a 28 year old. ?

My nickname for him is "Teddy Bear" and I really enjoy making cakes. I already have the 3D Wilton stand up cuddly teddy bear cake pan. But I want a base to go under the bear.... any ideas?

make a small round cake, and decorate it however...then put the stand up cake on top of it, hold it down with a lot of frosing/ gum paste/ and wooden dowels...

You could make a square cake, and cut it into 4 smaller squares.  Place those around the base, and decorate them like presents.....

a base as in another cake to stand on base or just something to put the cake on for transporting.. like a plate??

The idea of making a square cake and making little presents is a cute idea...

For a base (something to put the cake on) I use a cardboard box, cut a few squares out of the sides so that they can be stacked at least 3 thick... wrap them in tin foil nice and neat and use tape on the bottom to hold the foil down... place the cake directly on the board... or go to a supply store they sell the cardboard bases..
