My co-worker and I need to present our boss with ideas for a party with a theme. We will be inviting between 30-40 of our clients that are around the ages of 30-65. This needs to be a "classy" event. We want to make it fun for everyone. Any suggestions on what could work? AND PLEASE NO SUGGESTIONS ON A HAWIIAN OR TIME PERIOD PARTY! Thanks!! : )

  1. I wish I knew the business...if it's industry.. how about a book for each guest showing the progess of industry..

  2. Classy event for clients...I would go with a "Class Act" theme.  Do Hollywood Movie Class Acts.  The party store has plenty of ideas and decorations.  Cocktails with served hor deavors as guests mingle.  Or if the budget allows, go with a sit down 4-5 course meal with centerpieces either of flowers or top hats with sparkler type arrangements.

Your clients, no matter what type of business would feel you put a great effort into the party and would appreciate it.  A little favor of a key chain, pen, something with A Class Act, with your business name or logo on it.  Check out Baudville.com for favor ideas.  And Stumps or Andersons for decoration ideas too.

  3. Incorporate the details of what your company is about then just dress it up.  I'm an event planner but need a little more info to work with.

If your company was Blackberry we'd use subtle lighting shadows behind white draped walls that looked like crazy blackberry vines and scent the air with blackberry candles.

We'd incorporated menu items with blackberry sauces, desserts with a blackberry on top, drink specials with, well, you get it.

Otherwise, everything would be elegant, classy, white, silver, black and touches of what else... blackberry purple.

  4. How about "Black and White" ?  everyone dresses in black & white; the decorations are black & white, and so is all the food (well, as "black" as food can be- I suppose just really dark:)   ...  It's too bad you don't want a period party, because Hollywood in the 40's would be a good choice, as would Sinatra's Vegas....

  5. Try this website for fabuous business cocktail party ideas

    Cheers!

  6. I like the black and white theme.  I also like the idea of having a raffle of some sort to raise money for charity. People usually enjoy seeing if their ticket won the prize.  They just had one in my town where people were trying to win various gourmet baskets.  It doesnt have to be the theme, but it is a nice gesture on the part of the company.

  7. do a black and white party... eveything is either black or white* and people should dress in black or white*

  8. we are having a casino party

we picked up everything we need, like chips, dealer shoe, card shuffler and a poker table top on ebay, we got chips made with what we wanted printed on them, and got a roulette wheel etc we also got themed napkins, table cloths and serving bowls and plates, we got fabulous decorations, all casino themed and huge playing cards to use as well, food is typical of what you would get at a casino, trays of finger foods, bowls of nibbles etc, we got cocktail shakers and cocktail glasses on line very reasonable too, great fun for a party! we have servers and dealers dressed too, it can be quite expensive though, so this depends on your budget, for all the bits and pieces and not including food drinks or helium for the balloons we were about £250/$500, but for a party i was quite happy to pay that

the beauty of this kind of party is that eveyone can come dressed up, in their own clothes and not need costumes etc, everyone dresses up to go to a casino, so you need not worry about some of your guests frowning upon the idea, especially if you give them chips, its just a bit of fun, perhaps have a nice bottle of something for a prize for the person with the most at the end of the night or something, you could even turn this into a fundraiser for a local childrens hospital or something, everyone loves to give for a good cause, make them buy chips, obviously not at their face value, but say a stack of 20 for $10 etc and all the money goes to a charity

theres loads you can do with this

    have fun

  9. Why not turn the whole event into an Asian theme....

Asian food...   Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Mongolian and even Indian....

    paper lanterns all over...

    some bamboo plants for atmosphere...

a mix of Asian music in the background...

the employees dressed in  Asian style clothes  (not full blown kimonos nor those wooden sandals) and hair styles..

and have some of those take out Chinese boxes filled with merchandise and coupons for the clients...

and maybe some Asian entertainment too...

    good luck...!!!
