Ocean turbines to get power from moving water (both current and wave action) is being worked on by a Canadian company.  I think someone can invent a way to use the different temperature layers of the ocean to create power.

One that has not been used but written about in Popular Science or Mech. magazine many years ago is to launch thin-film solar cells into earth orbit to capture the solar rays, then beam the power down to earth via microwaves.  They said the atmosphere will disperse a tight microwave beam into a 3 mile diameter beam on the surface of the earth.  Well there is an awful lot of 3 mile diameter unpopulated desert areas in Southern Califormia, Ariz, Nev., NM, Texas, Oregon, etc can can receive the power and is within easy transmission distance to big cities.

Oil is the only thing that the plants recycle besides oxygen. The plants need CO2 to give us oxygen and then deteriorate into oil & gas.
