  1. Ok, I went to vocational school for 2 years in child care.

Here are some ideas that I enjoyed doing with the kids, and they enjoyed doing as well.

    Gift Ideas for "holidays"

    Epson Salt, Sand Art

Taking clear bottles-these can be baby food jars or if you dont want to use anything glass, you can use some clean dry pop bottles.

Put some epson salt in a baggie.  Add a little food coloring-not much-and then add a fragrance.  You can do several colors and make art out of them!  You can use a straw to pour some in to make it even more "artistic."  :)

    Spray paint-

using paint and water, add to a spray bottle..any spray bottle will work, but it should be small for tiny hands, make sure it is washable paints.  you can then take the children outside or to a room COVERED in newspapers and let them spray paint pictures!  Fun stuff!  :)

    Pudding Painting or Jello Painting

With Pudding you have to add a little food coloring-a non staining is best!  Then just give them a few different colors and let them paint pictures.

just some ideas.  hope this helps a little bit.

Another fun idea is taking clear plastic ornaments, and adding a little bit of paint of different colors, and letting the children swirl them around and "color the ornament".  then with a permanent marker-can be shiny gold or silver or even glittery *note you can also add glitter inside the ornaments with the paint!* put the child's name or who the child is making it for's name on the ornament and the year.  This is a fun activity too!  :)

    Another fun FOOD idea is

EASY PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES *make sure no one is allergic to peanuts though!!!*

    1 cup peanut butter

    1 egg

    1 cup sugar

    1 tsp vanilla

mix together, and roll into balls.

then take a fork and make the criss cross design

*wet the spoon slightly first and then dip it in sugar and make the criss cross design-this makes it sweet*

**you can also put a thumb print in the middle and drop kisses or jelly in the center**

hoped these help but i still dont now why you have to think of idears when its the staff at the school job

  3. Hi There!

I am a Head Start Teacher- basically a preschool teacher for low income families.

There are a lot of activites that you can find ont google. Just type in what you want. One of my favorite activities to do with my children is for health/medical. Its called germ lotion.

all you have to do is put glitter into lotion and have a discussion with the children about germs (we all have them but can't see them) then talk about the "special soap" that you have that will show the germs. It is a great way for children to see how to wash properly and to show them how touching things can transfer germs, or in this case glitter.

Just make sure to be careful when using glitter because some glitter seems to be very sharp. If you have any other questions or need more ideas, just let me know!!

    Good luck

  4. Why are they asking you?  That's the teacher's job to research and have those lessons prepared.  I taught Preschool for many years and never sent home a letter asking parents for lesson suggestions.

But since you asked...Trace around each child's body on a piece of brown mailing paper.  Have the child lay down on the paper, and trace around them.  Then color, decorate each person and post them around the room as a "get to know you" project.  For all about me, have each child make up a poster with their parent and bring it in for show and tell.  Do a different poster each day or week.  The "poster" can be large on posterboard or on 12x 18 construction paper.  Or make up a paper with questions on it like My Name, My Age, My Brothers and Sisters, My Favorite Color, My Favorite Food.  Have each child fill it out and assemble them all into a class book.  Other ideas are in a Teacher's Magazine called "Mailbox".  You can access it online.

  5. you could make a hand print.. for dental and medical have them make red cross signs?? all about me  they could draw a picture of themself and write down things that describe them...or right a word that describes them for each letter of their name such as

    M-macho

    A-awesome

    T-terrific

    T-tired

  6. Getting acquainted - we play a game the first day where we all sit in a circle and roll the ball to each child saying their name and then they roll it back to us saying our names.

Dental/Medical - invite a hygienist in to talk about brushing their teeth make a toothbrush chart

All About Me - make a book about their siblings, pets, favorite color, favorite food, etc.
