My husband and I have a "cheap date night challenge" and I need to plan a date for under $40 for Saturday night in San Francisco. Any ideas for nice nighttime walks, free events, cheap eats? Thanks for your help!!

  1. go to the st francis ice cream parlor on 24th street and then stroll down to mission  checking out all the wonderful shops  including  p;hilz  coffee 24th at folsom

  2. take a tourist trip on one of their busses. Ride the trolly cars. Walk around the Wharf and eat street snacks. go walk around Chinatown.

  3. Buy $20 worth of pot and smoke it with him.  Get some cheap munchies from Safeway.  Go to the wax meuseum or one of those places by fisherman's wharf for a fun stoner adventure.  Hopefully you still have enough money.  If you don't, just walk around San Francisco and have fun!  If you still have the munchies get some more from Safeway.  Don't go to restaurants, they just rip you off.  You get way more food for way cheaper at the store.  Like muffins and cookies and juice or soda.  Water is good too.  Then just walk around eating it all stoned.  It's so much fun.  I frikin love that place you lucky ducks. =]

  4. Ride the elevator up to "The Top Of The Mark" (Mark Hopkins Hotel) to the cocktail lounge, for a couple of drinks.

The 360 degree view of the city night lights are spectacular!

    And it's sooo romantic.

  5. Pack a picnic basket with two glasses and a bottle of wine, some cheese and crackers... head over to Tiburon as sun sets and go to The Waters' Edge hotel. Go upstairs to the second floor and out onto the balcony at the end of the hall. The view over the water looking at the skyline is beautiful. Pull up one of their chairs and enjoy some quiet conversation.

I'm not from San Francisco, just visited for the first time this past October. My husband and I stayed at The Waters' Edge. It was so pretty. We spent a couple of hours out on that deck just sipping wine and watching the ferry and looking out over the water. It was one of the most romantic evenings I can remember... it was also our 20th anniversary (woohoo!)... and we didn't spend more than the cost of a bottle of wine.
