  1. She'll just love having other children. For my daughter's first birthday we took 12 little ones to a toddler play area whilst the dads set our a birthday tea at the table. They loved the cake with candles. After we all went into the garden to watch a few fireworks - but not really loud bangy ones.

  2. Keep it simple, she won't remember it. Just have close family over for cake and ice cream, maybe a barbecue if you want.

++Added, read your follow up question. In no way did I mean it's not an important birthday, of course it is! She'll have fun with all the attention and love around her. Have fun planning!

When I said "simple", I didn't mean "nothing" - I meant as these other sites describe, too!

  3. Personally, I think that baby's first birthday is more for the parents than the child.

We had family and friends round with a few kids and served 'kid party' type food; sandwiches (cheese, marmite, ham), carrot, celery and cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes, humous and dips, crisps, twiglets(!).  Make sure you have plenty of soft drinks for the kids and maybe some beers or wine for the adults.

I did balloons for her second birthday, but they are too much of a safety worry with tiny ones.  She's too young for party games; even at 2 they're a bit of a struggle!

My little girl was a bit scared of the candle on her cake and wouldn't go near it, but we sang 'Happy Birthday' to her and, when everyone had gone she had a very quiet evening and an early night to get over the excitement of all those people!

Keep it simple, don't expect too much and have fun!

  4. Omg it's my really close realative's 2nd bday on friday shes a girl too!!  For her first birthday they invited everyone they know and did a huge party in tatton park. They had a candyfloss person and entertainment for kids like magicians dj etc...  and ffor adults the had entertainment too and of course food but it was fantastic and the had huge balloons sayin her name on and a big balloon on the ceilieng in which they popped and confetti came out and they also had a boncy castle for adults and kids !! Happy bday to your little girl x

  5. Do a "themed" party of whatever she likes best. My son had Blue's Clues for his 1st b-day. (He's 8 now.)

My daughter is 2 1/2, and big into Dora & The Wonder Pets right now.

I'm sure it'll be a great party, regardless of what you decide to do. And remember, the only way she's gonna remember it is thru pics. So, it's more of a party for you, isn't it??? Make it a great one!!!
