Ideas for gift basket?

Question

My mom is going to New York City for a week in August and I'd like to make her a gift basket BEFORE she goes, stuff she can use for the trip! Please list anything you can think of (&things besides money :) )

Magazines for the plane, iPod if you really want to give something REALLY nice, Shoes, Cute top/outfit, purse to carry everything, camera (disposible or digital), or possibly take her to get her toes or nails done! :)

Maybe a Camera, Some Snacks for the Trip, A compass.. lol... a tour book/map, Hmm... a little Blanket.. i dont know! maybe a good luck card... :-/ Well..... good luck

a camera..........map or alist of things to see.........lotion, gum, a funny hat....sunglasses........and a roll of quarters so she can call you

What a good idea! Stuff she can use for the trip could be some nice soaps and shampoo & conditioner, so she doesn't have to use the hotel's or pack her own. You could also include a book by her favorite author, to read in her spare time or on the way (if she's not driving herself.) Maybe some of her favorite snack foods too. A map of the area might come in handy too! Hope this helps!

Magazines for the plane,travel sizes of lotion and shampoo and mouthwash.Make sure to pack the liquid items since they cannot go on the plane any more.

Many people suggested candy or snacks. If she is flying, she cannot bring those from outside the airport.

A small travel candle, a new nightie  and a stack of freshly printed $1 bills for tips.

She can use a map, a tour book and a stain remover pen.

I hope Mom has fun.

Go to a Wal-Mart or Target or other store that has the travel sized personal products and just go crazy in there.  Then, get her fave magazine or paperback, a disposable camera, her fave hard candy, etc.

Put it all in a cute little basket and wrap it all up in colorful saran wrap topped off with a big bow.

Great idea for a gift!!!

I'd say everything travel would be awesome. Disposable razor, little shaving cream can, small shampoo/conditioner, body wash, little toothpaste and a little mouthwash, small travel pack of makeup remover wipes, toilet wipes, nail file, travel magnifying mirror that sticks to the hotel mirror, little Q-tips travel box, ear plugs, small perfume, small bathroom candle and matches, crossword or other puzzle book for the plane, chewing gum for the plane, inflatable travel pillow... That is all stuff I would LOVE for a trip. OH - if you do have extra $ you can get those packing bags that allow you to suck the air out and fit more in your suitcase. Maybe you can put in some tea bags and a few goodies so she can have them in her hotel room too. You're awesome to be thinking of your mom. All of us moms out here in cyber space salute you.

well a picture of you lol and some of her fav snacks for the airplane and gum for the popping of the ears and get her comfy slippers for while shes in her hotel ... maybe some facial maskes and foot rub ... hopefully thatll get cha started lol
