Ideas for mother, son trip ???

I'm a single mom to a 18 year old son who is graduating from high school this year. He is going on a graduation trip to the beach with friends but I want to take some someplace for a few days later in the summer.

Wanted some ideas on what would make a great trip. We'll stay only a few days and I don't have a big budget.

You don't say where you are close to, so it is hard to make specific suggestions, but how about an amusement park (six flags or something similar) for one day,  go somewhere where you can 'sightsee' and just be tourists another day,  Then maybe a day where you do something special you never have done, an unusual location for dinner or a boat ride, or something that would be memorable for your son in the future.  Let him help in the planning so it isn't something he is doing 'just because mom wants to'.

Take him on a trip to the nearest Major League Baseball game.  Depending on where it is you can get pretty cheap seats.  Have fun talking on the way!
