Ideas for packed lunch for grown man?

My fiance works in construction so there are no microwaves to warm his lunch food. I usually pack him sandwiches (all different kinds) with chips, fruit, jello, etc...but that is everyday. Does anyone else have any ideas of what I could pack him?

  1. Cooked steak or chicken with flour tortillas, salsa and sour cream and cheese.

    Calzones

  2. granola bars, maybe a wrap of some kind <tortilla, chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato>, peanuts, salad <with chicken or turkey>, chips and salsa...

  3. A packed lunch with no microwave is kind of tough to be real creative with. It severely limits one's options. Be creative with the sandwiches, wraps, pitas, hoagies, etc...  Try different kinds of breads and fillings. Be creative with the sides too, cheese and crackers, a thermos full of hot soup, raw veggies, granola bars, nuts, the posibilities are endless. Just remember to mix things up, don't pack the same crackers and cheese or the same soup over and over. I think he'll be happy as long as he has a good bit of variety.

  4. I worked in construction for 15+ years and when your hungry and cannot get out to buy food you'll be thankful to have anything..

A can of tuna or other fish with some crackers and tapitillo. Or burritos made from left overs wrapped heavily in foil to heat on the motor of some heave equipment works great too.

  5. get a heated containers.....the ones that keep the food hot......then u can prepare anything
