  1. How about a bowl-a-thon, a walk-a-thon, a motorcycle ride that you will have to find some co-sponsers to put together.  Any of these things is going to take a lot of work, people that you will have to find to help you and a ton of dedication.

    Good luck with that!

  2. My have two cousins with autism. One is high level and the other is mild. We walk for them. But if you want to do something at the school, I would suggest a car wash or bake some cookies and cakes. Brownies or muffins and sell them there. Like a bake off. Good Luck!

  3. Your reasons for raising money are very commendable. But you would be better raising money for a local group rather than the National Autistic Society. I am a member of the NAS and know from personal experience that far too much money raised by them goes on admin etc rather than helping people at grass roots level who deal with autism everyday. I am sorry to sound cynical but really you are better either setting up a local support group for parents and children in your own local area or joining a local group. We have a local group and all the money they raise goes to help the parents and children directly involved. No one who helps with this group takes any money from it. It also helps people in the local community with similar problems get to know each other. If you don't live in London the NAS is a very distant organisation and offers very little help with day to day problems of parenting an autistic child.

  4. My Boss has an autistic son.  His wife went on line and found a local group that does fund raisers like walk-a-thons.
