Question:

Ideas for school diner?

What are some good creative ideas to improve my school diner. It's not a cafeteria, we serve pretty much evryhing that teenage kids like to eat, hot dogs, pizza, cheeseballs, candybars, pop, etc. Our mascot is a bulldawg and we base the diner mostly on that theme and a 50's diner sort of atmosphere. Anything helps!

  1. Well, that sounds like a pretty cool school diner to me!  What about it needs to be improved?

Does it have a name?  (Bulldawg Diner, or Blue Plate Special, or Happy Days Diner, or Retro Diner?)  If so, some signage might help.

What are you doing to engage the students in making this "their" diner?  Maybe a wall could be painted with that chalkboard paint, and notes and (clean) graffiti could be something fun they might get into.  Or collect some students' t-shirts and decorate a wall (or rafters from the ceiling) with them.

Is there a jukebox?  Or some retro furniture to sit on?  Maybe even a retro b/w television?

I hope that helps, good luck!
