Ideas for theme party?

my friends sweet sixteen is comming up and she want to throw a house party with a theme ..any ideas?

For my seventeenth birthday party I did a murder mystery theme. It was really fun. I made up little characters and when the guests came they picked one out of the hat and couldnt tell anyone. Everyone was dressed in the old 1920's fashion. I had sparkling cider and candy cigars and turned out all the lights, lit some candles and it looked just like an underground club haha.

She could do a Hawaiian theme with like coconut cups for drinks like pina coladas. Then have  hawaiian music, and dress in hawaiian style clothes like leis and grass skirts and even coconut bras!

Or she could do a Hollywood theme. Have camera men and "paparazzi" (just have like parents or some people you know outside taking pictures of all the people that walk in)..and have a red carpet too! Dress in nice dresses just like its award show!

Or how about a Las Vegas theme party? She could have like poker sets out and you guys can dress however you want and you can put lights all around just like the hotels!

Or even a Parisian theme..have little like eiffel tower figures around and dress in designer clothes and have little french maids and poodles!

Just some ideas =)

tell her to pick two of her favorite colors .

Ex: Purple & Pink.

& then decorate/buy food thats purple & pink.

And you can also get people to wear at least one item thats purple or pink.
