Question:

Ideas for video broadcast school announcements?

So me and seven other guys are on the team to make the school announcements. It is usually fun to watch. Like we'll have a student spotlight, "teacher feature", and a funky fact. What are some of the things your school does?

I had an idea to go around school with the camera and if someone is nicely dressed have like a little fashion show and talk about their outfit and what is in style.

Is that dumb?

Any ideas?!

  1. Good idea. some more ideas is to try and make it as funny as possible and i dont know, maybe try and make it look like a newscast? oh and one thing my school did is said what do you like most about your favorite food? and kids would say things like its just saucy and delicous and then the editors cut out the why do you like your faveorite food part and made it why do you like eating poo? it was really funny so there are a few ideas.

  2. honestly, i dnt really like the other answers to this question, ur not doing the news.  no one in high school cares about oil situations or whatever.  im a sophmore in high school and our video announcements are HILARIOUS!!  everyone loves them!!  ur idea for the fashion fair is really great because even though its been done before, students still love it because they know the people in it and that can make anything funner.  also, its familiar.

it might sound wierd, but my school puts in random clips every now and then.  like just randomly, there was an alien hosting a cooking show and that clip was on for about five seconds.  everyone laughs cuz it has nothin to do with our school.  then a little while later it will show the alien again but his food will be burning and smoke will be everywhere.  randomness is really funny!!

check out whats out there.  find someone really unique and amazing- not the lunch lady.  like one time my school interviewed this dude that was in like 10 clubs, had a 4.7 gpa, was a really good singer, and broke school records in sports.  while they were saying some of his accomplishments in the background, it showed his putting together the rubics cube and he could do it in like a minute.  i didnt know someone like that exisisted, especially at my school.  im sure if you look, you'll find someone.

computer animation is a huge part of what makes our video broadcast so amazing.  you have to try out different things and see what looks best.  the music, colors, speed, whether parts are in black and white or color...stuff like that

i really hope i helped!!  good luck!!

  3. That would be a little cheesy but might work. Make the announcements productive. For instance include economic facts and talk about our current oil situation.... this topic draws controversy. Another idea would be to throw in a trivia question for each week winner wold get airtime or candy bar... good luck

  4. The problem there is twofold: 1. it's been done a jillion times before, and it's too easy because it's so shallow. Do the "teacher feature" with a twist.

Interview an LD teacher and find out what they REALLY do instead of letting your schoolmates get away with stereotypes. And interview the school engineer (if you have one), a custodian (you do), or a cafeteria worker. And one of 'm will have a funky fact; bet on it.
