Question:

Ideas for warm up songs for our high school varsity volleyball team?

I'm currently having some trouble finding songs to use for our high school varsity volleyball team's warm up CD. It doesn't seem like that difficult of a task...except there is one thing. I go to a Catholic high school, and the parents who come to the games can be a bit strict about the content in the songs. (For example, last year "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" came on during our warm ups, and the parents were so upset about it that we had to turn off the music for the rest of the warm up period.) Any ideas of some songs, preferably rock or rap, that will be good for pumping up the girls but will still keep the parents happy?

  1. You know the best what songs would be accepted, so I give you some of my warm up songs :

Raised Fist - Breaking Me Up (Awesome)

    Refused - New Noise

    Ram Jam - Black Betty

    AC/DC - Thunder Struck

    Black President - Last ******* Hope (http://www.myspace.com/blackpresident)

MC Hammer - You Can't Touch This

Thrice - Image Of The Invisible

    Ignite - Bleeding

Minor Threat - Filler/Don't Wanna Hear It/Seeing Red/Small Man Big Mouth

Pennywise - Bro Hymn (also Awesome)

The Suicide Machines - War Profiteering is Killing Us All

The Exploited - Beat The b******s

Motorhead - Ace Of Spades (another awesome!)

Mike V and the Rats - Vendetta

Here are my favorites. Mostly Punk songs. Ask for more!

  2. For our volleyball team we had:

    SexyBack                  Justin Timberlake

    Wind it Up                  Gwen Stefani

    Here in your Arms     HelloGoodbye

    Imma Shine                Youngbloodz

    Yeah                            Usher

    Pump it                       Black Eyed Peas

    Smack that                Akon

Hope those are appropriate enough! :)

  3. Mika hasa bunch of up tempo songs that the parents shouldn't object to.  Stuff like that or go old school, look into some sixties tunes, lots of rock that is uptempo there.

You should also tell the parents to get  a grip, these are young adults who are clearly subject to way worse things than "save a horse ride a cowboy", sounds like someone is a wee bit anal.

    Good luck

  4. Try User Friendly by Marilyn Manson.

  5. I found that hip hop rap songs are the best:

    Lil mama- Lip Gloss

Huey- Pop Lock and Drop it.

    Rihanna- Break it off

    T.I.- Top Back

    Avril Lavigne- Girlfriend

    Timbaland- Give it to me

    LLoyd- Get it Shawty

    Fabolous- Make me better

DJ Unk- Walk it out (remix)

Bon Jovi- Livin' on a prayer

    DJ Kahle- We takin' over

Shop Boys- Party like a rockstar

    Justin Timberlake- Summer Love

There are a lot of oldies out there too that you can get, like spice girls

  6. Show me the money by petey pabloe

Get you head in the game from highschool musical

there is a lot more i just cant think of them yet

  7. We used a song that everyone loved. Don't know who sings it (I should!), and I don't know it's exact title. It's Walkin on Sunshine ...WooWooo. It's an oldie.

  8. Heart of a Champion

  9. Yeah! by Usher

I Like to Move It by Bang Gang

Hey Ya! by OutKast ~get the clean version~

Because of You (Bermudez & Griffin Radio) -by Kelly Clarkson

Dancing With Myself - the Donnas

    Get Up by Ciara

And go to "iTunes Collections" - they make several collections of great workout songs, and you can pick and choose the ones you like.

    Good Luck!

  10. Usher- "Yeah"

    Fort Minor- "Remember The Name"

Both primarily curse free, and not offending, and great songs to hype up a team!
