Ideas for what to do with a terrace?

My boyfriend just moved into an apartment with a rather large terrace (1000sq ft--yes he is quite lucky). It is already landscaped by the building and bbq grills are not allowed. Does anyone have any ideas for what to do with it?

every one is enlighted with some nice flowers.........(even boyfriends)

Even if grills aren't allowed you could still have a table and chairs for al fresco dining and another area for lounging and entertaining.  Add an outdoor rug and some lighting and you have just increased your living space by 1000 sq. ft.  Lucky you!
