People in need of what? Comfort, food, medical attention??

Personally, I would love mac n cheese, crossword puzzles or books that make me think...and for medical stuff: antiseptics, band aids, wash, and hand sanitizers.

You can get a lot of ideas if you go to www.anysoldier.com. Soldiers list items they'd like to have. I see chapstick & babywipes a lot. My brother said the canned soups and beef jerky I sent were great to have. I sent the type in the microwavable bowls. The may not always have time or the energy to go to the chow halls. Sometimes they are far away. A few family members gor together and made cookies (vacuum selaed them)... also took pics of us in the kitchen making them to  send along. He said it was nice getting something homemade.

Funny, after I answered this I overheard a lady at the store asking a guy in cami's for ideas... he said hard candies because their throats get sore and dry from the hot dusty air. Eye drops might be good too.  

Hope this gives you some good ideas! Oh! Incase you weren't already aware, the post office gives out 2 different sized boxes and charge a flat fee no matter the weight.

i guess it kinda depends on who are the people in need... if you're talking about the poor, maybe the kids may want toys and books and clothing.

YOU CAN'T SEND PERISHABLES SO THE BEST IDEA IS CLOTHING OR BLANKETS.  SHOES ARE NEEDED IN MOST PARTS OF THE WORLD.
