My little brother and sister lost their father a year ago (this was Mums 2nd marriage), has any one got any ideas on a poem that I could write to them in a card. Their Father wasn't exactly the nicest person but all the same they are young and miss him.

  1. There's a very special garden

Where the trees of memory grow

    Nurtured by the kindness

And concern that good friends show.

    The roots are cherished memories

Of good times in the past

    The branches tender promises

    That souls endure and last.

It's a place of peace and beauty

Where bright new hopes can start

    It's memory's lovely garden

    That soothes the hurting heart.

  2. When I am gone, release me, let me go.  I have so many things to see and do.  You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears, be happy that we had so many years.  I gave you my love.  You can only guess how much you gave me in happiness.   But now its time I traveled on alone.  So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must then let your grief be comforted by trust.  Its only for a while that we must part so bless the memories within your heart.  I wont be far away , for life goes on so if you need me, call and I will come.  Though you cant see or touch me, I'll be near and if you listen with your heart, you'll hear all of my love around you soft and clear,  And then, when you must come this way alone I'll greet you with a smile, and say "welcome home"
